At Age 55, Fitness is My Lifestyle

“The pain you feel today will be the strength you feel tomorrow.” ~ Arnold Schwarzenegger

We are created to dream – created to have a life of abundant pleasure. And I find such pleasure, and have so many dreams centered around my fitness pursuit. How I long to be a fitness icon, living out my God-inspired purpose to guide and motivate others who also long to be fit and healthy! But to do so I must exhibit a fitness lifestyle day in and day out, for it takes a certain level of passion to be set apart from those living an ordinary lifestyle.

Fitness is not an an endeavor that happens without a daily grind to be one’s best self. It takes a daily renewed commitment and focus to the pursuit, where all comfort zones are shattered, and excuses are not tolerated!

Just today, I had to be firm with a friend who was generously offering me one of her store-bought white chocolate macadamia cookies. I have a sweet tooth and could have devoured the entire box she had, but my desire to be fit and healthy far supersedes any temporary pleasure that sweets may bring!

“Fitness is not about being better than someone else. It’s about being better than you used to be.” – Khloe Kardashian

At age 55, fitness is a normal and cherished part of my life. It is both rewarding and enjoyable. It is a journey that I dedicate to the Lord, and I know that all the work I do in the kitchen and in the gym will lead to a life where I am happy, fit and healthy.

I don’t want to be alone in my endeavor. No! I wish a fitness lifestyle for everyone…
