There is a preponderance of information on what a person should eat if weight loss is the goal. Just do a google search and you’ll find a weight loss diet starting with every letter of the alphabet. And if you are like many others, you have tried them all!
All these diets have one thing in common. They restrict the number of calories taken in. At the end of the day, that is the secret to weight loss. Eat fewer calories than what you need for base line function and daily activities and watch the weight come off.
So, whatever your nutritional preferences are, I encourage you to watch your calories. Be attentive to your portion sizes. This is the way to eat to lose weight.
On a personal note, I like to follow a protein rich diet of around 1000-1200 calories a day. I am experiencing great results following this nutritional protocol. Lean meats, protein drinks, nuts, beans, and eggs are my staple foods.
