Reflecting On My Weight Loss Journey

When it comes time to reflect, make sure you’re looking back in a way that will help you move forward. Spend time reflecting on your wins and losses because each hold their own lessons that can help you grow. – John Maxwell

It was June 2022 and I was at my heaviest weight of 270 pounds. Shocking! Just a stones throw away from tipping the scales at 300 pounds. I was miserable! I was riddled with shame and embarrassment. What had I done to myself? How could I let things spiral so out of control? It was time to make a drastic change. The pain was too much to bear!

It is now the end of April, 2023 and I am almost 70 pounds lighter. I am a new person – my drive, ambition, purpose and focus have returned. I have never been more motivated and inspired to reinvent myself and live the life that God has ordained for me, and I have learnt lessons that will serve me well for the rest of my life!

The pain that came with being obese has been a welcomed guest. It spurred me on to uncover all my inner strengths, and the fear of making changes, and breaking all too familiar comfort zones, has been replaced with courage and perseverance.

Not only have I changed my life for the better, but I am inspiring and guiding others who long for a life of health and fitness. My reach is a global one. It is a joy that propels me forward. The community I have developed around my fitness journey serves me well each and every day. It keeps me accountable to know people are impacted by my story.

My story may be your story too for I know that I am not alone in trying to shape my life for the better. It is such a joyful pursuit isn’t it? However, I also know that there are others out there who are stuck and struggling. I am here for each one of you! I pray the lessons that I am learning and sharing, as I strive to be the epitome of fitness, touches you in a positive, energizing, and transforming way!
